From an hour of manual planning a day to effectively zero

The problem. Across several production lines, managers and team leads each spent close to an hour every morning on manual planning — tracking orders, assigning work, and coordinating between teams. It relied on individual focus and memory, offered no shared visibility, and led to duplicated work, tasks slipping through, and no objective record of what was planned versus done.

What I built. An automated planning and tracking system that reads the daily production schedule the moment it updates. It assigns and balances workload evenly across teams, prevents duplicated effort through a shared log with built-in failsafes, and consolidates every schedule and note into a single source of truth — then produces an automated daily report of what was planned, completed, and left.

The result. Manual daily planning dropped from about an hour per manager to effectively zero, duplicated effort was eliminated, and the operation gained — for the first time — an objective plan-versus-actual record. Built and proven in the units I manage, with a complete framework designed to scale across the wider operation.

About

Engineering discipline, floor-level experience

I'm an engineer by training and an operations manager by trade. I've led teams of 100+ and run production for a major logistics operation and in Quebec manufacturing — so I don't automate from the outside. I've done the manual planning myself, which is exactly why I know what's worth automating and what isn't.

My approach is deliberately practical: I build on the exports and systems you already have, ship something real quickly, and expand from there — rather than selling a long, expensive software project. The goal is simple — give your managers their time back and take the avoidable errors off the floor.
